Sterilon SQUARE P UV-C luminaires combine the functions of lighting and surface disinfection. Luminaires emitting ultraviolet (UV-C) light are one of the most effective devices capable of removing viruses, bacteria, mould from the surface or destroying the DNA or RNA of any exposed microorganisms.
Luminaires recommended for use in service-providing facilities (hair and beauty salons), health care facilities, hotels, restaurants, public administration, educational and care facilities, as well as other spaces requiring general lighting and periodic disinfection.
The luminaire is provided with built-in UV-C fluorescent lamps directed directly onto the surface, which enhances effective disinfection. However, it should be noted that UV-C light is harmful to the skin and eyes. When the luminaire is operating in this mode, you cannot stay in the range of the light beam, and before using it, you should read the instruction manual delivered with the product.
The luminaire is equipped with energy-saving LED modules characterised by a high luminous flux. The patented high-efficiency HE reflector guarantees high efficiency, while effectively reducing the glare effect (UGR <19). High lighting parameters make it a suitable main source of light, conducive to work requiring eyesight concentration.
The task of the inverted RCR motion sensor is to protect people and animals against accidental intrusion into the zone of direct UV-C radiation of the lamp when it is switched on. When motion is detected (contrary to the standard application of the RCR sensor), the UV-C module is turned off. If there is no motion for a period of 10 minutes (in the specified coverage zone), the UV-C module is turned on again.
Note: access to the UV-C switch should not be allowed for unauthorised persons!

The disinfection efficiency is presented by CIE and other research units based on the dose that needs to be implicated to re- move 90% of the microbes from the surface.
For most of the known bacteria and viruses the required dose does not exceed 8 mJ/cm2.
This means that the lamp emitting 1 W of UV-C radiation at a distance of 1 metre from the source needs 800 seconds or about 13 minutes to disinfect the surface in 90%.
Lamps from the UV Clean Light series emit light at a distance of 1 metre from the source:
• 72W UV-C Lamp: 1.44W UV-C radiation
The efficiency of UV-C radiation decreases in inverse proportion to the square of the distance from the light source. Therefore, the closer we place the light source to the surface requiring disinfection, the more effective the light will be.
We have assumed 15 minutes as an indicative disinfection time for our products.
It may vary due to the power of the lamp used, the distance between the surface being disinfected and the light source, temperature and humidity.
